Greetings
from ... wait, what day is it?
Dear Friends
and Family,
By
midweek you forget what day it is, and what time it is, and those
things don't seem like they will ever be important again. The
city is so full of people and things to see and do that you would
swear we all live here year-round. I haven't seen some of my friends
from construction for days, but I know they're here somewhere,
having a great time. The faces may be different, but everyone
is smiling.
The
Café is the place to see and be seen during the heat of
the day. Jugglers, stilt walkers, and fantastically costumed creatures
are literally coming out of the woodwork. People bring newspapers,
games, toys, artwork, craft projects, nail polish, gifts, and
tarot cards to enjoy under the Café shade for the hottest
hours.
Trying
to climb around the furniture, art, and bodies to take pictures
becomes a bit challenging, especially in my big boots, but it's
a whole lot of fun and a good way to meet a lot of nice people.
Tonight
is the second of our Regional Nights on the music stage, where
performers from the eastern states, lead by a huge New York Burner
community, will come together for the evening.
