Greetings from Café Island!

Dear Friends and Family,
The main Café structure is completed, with the center and outer ring posts, cable rigging, shade cloth, and carpets done. Work continues on a secondary shade structure and counters for the coffee shop, plus a sound booth, two stages, lighting, and other miscellaneous carpentry.

Enough progress has been made that the decor team has started transforming the space into Café Island. This marks the first year that the Center Camp Café, in its entirety, will be produced in the spirit of the annual art theme. From decor and lighting to coffee shop menus, art installations, and featured performances, Café Island will be a beautiful and bustling port in this year's Floating World. And those are just the parts that have been planned ahead. One of the most magical parts of building a community center for a thriving city of artists and gift givers is the spontaneous and generous contributions of art and activity from every visitor!
